About us

The Krameterhof estate has been owned by the Holzer family for four generations and has been run as a farm all this time.

We work in close partnership with nature, guided by the complex interrelations and patterns of natural systems.

Once you gain a proper understanding of natural processes, they can be successfully deployed and transferred to agrarian cultivation. That is how you create long-lasting systems that enjoy the diversity, stability and resilience of natural ecosystems.

We at Krameterhof farm have successfully experimented with this approach for decades now and word has spread. It is the numerous visitors seeking ideas, inspiration and information at Krameterhof who have made our farm internationally renowned. We are very happy about this interest in our work and hope that you too will find what you are looking for.

Regina studied agricultural sciences at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. She lives and works at Krameterhof farm together with Josef and their daughters Rosa and Frieda. After attending and graduating from an agricultural high school, he has been passionately involved in permaculture since 1994. Richard has three children and lives in Enns, a small town in Upper Austria where he runs a suburban variation of a permaculture-based mini-farm for family use. In the meantime, he also teaches at his home place.

Michael teaches about permaculture, plant propagation, fruit tree grafting, tree pruning and wild bees. He is a carpenter by profession and lives in Vorarlberg with his family. Inspired by the example of Krameterhof, he is developing a permaculture farm and has a particular interest in preserving old and rare fruit tree varieties. Michael likes to share his extensive knowledge and pass on his passion for fruit growing in seminars at Krameterhof farm.

Eva Adelbrecht

Eva completed her degree in French and English translation and interpretation in Vienna. After falling in love with Lungau, she moved there in 2009 and now enjoys the opportunity to live out her twin passions for language and nature. Since the summer of 2016 her language and interpretation skills have been an invaluable asset during the guided day tours and introductory seminars at Krameterhof. Her interest in permaculture increases on a daily basis and as a consequence everything now grows better in her garden, showing how a passion can lead to a profession and a profession to a passion.
